Connect a WhatsApp Business number to a property and guest WhatsApp messages land in the Chats tab, alongside your other guest conversations. You set this up from the property’s Integrations settings: open the property’s Settings, then tap Integrations. WhatsApp is the first card under the Messaging section.

Before you start

  • You need a WhatsApp Business account (a Meta business) and a phone number you can use for WhatsApp. The number must not already be in use on a personal WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app.
  • The connection is set up through Meta’s official sign-up flow, which Vidimo opens from a setup page in your device browser. Have your Meta login handy.

Connect a number

1

Open Integrations

From the property’s Settings, tap Integrations. The WhatsApp card sits under Messaging and shows its current status.
2

Start the connection

Tap Connect WhatsApp. Vidimo opens its WhatsApp setup page for your property in your device browser.
3

Enter your number

Type the WhatsApp number in full international format: a +, your country code, then the number, with no spaces. Display name is optional and defaults to your property name. Then tap Continue with Facebook.
4

Sign up with Meta

Meta’s sign-up opens in a popup. Sign in to Meta and follow the steps to choose your WhatsApp Business account, using the same number. This part runs on Meta’s pages, not in Vidimo.
5

Return to the app

When you finish, the browser tells you you’re done. Tap Return to Vidimo to go back to the app, where the WhatsApp card on Integrations takes it from there.
6

Let it finish

WhatsApp takes a few minutes to set the number up. The card shows a spinner, Setting up your number with WhatsApp, and the Connecting number while that happens. You don’t have to wait on this screen. Setup finishes whether the app is open or not, and the card shows a Connected status once the number is live.
The sign-up runs in your device browser because Meta’s flow can’t run inside the app. If you close the browser or cancel partway through, no number is linked. Just tap Connect WhatsApp again to restart.
Connect links only last a short time. If the browser says Link expired, tap Return to Vidimo and start again from the WhatsApp card. If it says Meta’s signup didn’t load, tap Reload. If it still doesn’t load, turn off any content blocker for that page and reload again.

If WhatsApp asks for a code

WhatsApp sometimes wants proof you control the number before it will finish. It sends a code to that number, either by text or by an automated call, and the WhatsApp card asks you for it:
1

Find the code

Check the number you’re connecting for a text or a call from WhatsApp. It can take a couple of minutes to arrive.
2

Enter it on the card

On the property’s Integrations screen, the WhatsApp card shows Enter the code sent to your number. Type the code and tap Submit.
3

Wait for the Connected badge

The card confirms the code was accepted and finishes the connection. It switches to a Connected status shortly after.
If the code doesn’t work, check it and try again. WhatsApp’s codes expire: if yours has, tap Disconnect, then Connect WhatsApp to get a new one.

What “connected” looks like

When a number is linked, the WhatsApp card shows:
  • A Connected status badge.
  • The Connected number in international format.
  • A Manage on WhatsApp Business link that opens Meta’s WhatsApp Manager, where the display name, profile photo, and quality rating live.

Where guest messages go

Once WhatsApp is connected, messages guests send to that number arrive in the Chats tab as guest conversations, so you can reply from the same place as the rest of your guest messaging.

Guest conversations

See and reply to guest WhatsApp messages in the Chats tab.

Connect a phone number

Add a number for calls and SMS on this property.

Fixing a connection

A connected number needs nothing from you, so the card offers no button to fix it. If something goes wrong, the card says what, in red, for example when WhatsApp rejected the display name. Fix that first, then tap Retry connection. When the number is still live on WhatsApp, it comes back right in the app, with no Meta sign-up, and a WhatsApp reconnected message confirms it. If WhatsApp is still holding the number, a message asks you to disconnect it first. Otherwise the sign-up flow opens again. If setting up never finishes, the card says so. Tap Retry connection: if WhatsApp approved the number late, it comes back. If it doesn’t, tap Disconnect, then Connect WhatsApp to start again.

Disconnecting or changing number

Disconnect, at the bottom of the card, stops guest WhatsApp messages reaching Vidimo. Your existing conversations stay in Chats. To connect the same number again later, first turn off two-step verification for it in WhatsApp Manager. To move to a different number, disconnect, then tap Connect WhatsApp and sign up with the new number.
Use Manage on WhatsApp Business to update the display name, profile photo, or check the number’s quality rating. Those are managed by Meta, not in Vidimo.
